Mobius Gallery cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition Lines of Thought, which brings together in a silent conversation two artists Lea Rasovszky and Anna Khodorkovskaya. The show is presented in the framework of the second edition of Art Encounters Biennale Life a User's Manual curated by Ami Barak and Diana Marincu.
Pursuing the main scope of the biennale, the exhibition reveals the way two artists reflect on day-to-day realities. Lea Rasovszky and Anna Khodorkovskaya draw on mundane, everyday life as a source of inspiration. While Lea explores the richness of the popular culture and the tabooed realms, Anna appropriates and alienates quotidian objects, advertising images in order to construct sculptural elements or to elaborate abstract paintings. The red thread that links these two artistic practices is the drive to get closer to the audience, to make art accessible by content, medium, but also by price (see Anna’s ArtStreamShop), refusing art’s elitist status.
Their arresting works advance a reflection about the status of art today, its role in creating a bridge between people and in raising awareness of the world's current state.
The exhibition will be on view just for one day at Elba in Timisoara, Romania.
