Mobius on the Road
2023A travelling exhibition program presenting 6 different exhibitions, 6 Romanian artists in 6 cities all across Romania.
The gallery's entire portfolio includes over 60 exhibitions presented in the last five years, mainly in Bucharest and internationally.
Mobius on the Road targets six different cities and national audiences with one project, aiming to promote art as a pedagogical product for the public that does not have access to cultural programs in Bucharest.
Cultural disparity in Romania
In most of the cultural sectors, the elements of cultural infrastructure are distinguished by unequal territorial distributions at the regional and county level, with major differences between the provincial area and the metropolis. This suggests regional and county gaps in access to diverse cultural programs. The project aims to promote exchange and dialogue between the well-established cultural centres and smaller cities.

Artists
6 romanian artists-
Andrei Gamarț
Lives and works in BucharestDiscover more about the artist“What makes me negotiate about the end of painting when I try to interpret the paintings of Gamarț is their force of mirroring various stages of the history of painting, of challenging our cultural memory as well as their surrealist content reflecting our ambiguous notions and understanding of the world we live in. These paintings with their content and references may indicate end of history, but with their re-configured aesthetics they re-generate a new experience for painted images.” (Excerpt from Beral Madra - “Negotiate about the end of painting”)

Lea Rasovszky
Lives and works in BucharestDiscover more about the artistRasovszky's works are characterized by a fresh roughness and rawness, albeit never taking delight in trash. Nonetheless, they always espouse an in–your–face–attitude, sometimes marked by anger, melancholy, even bitterness, sometimes by crude irony and humor.
-
Roman Tolici
Lives and works in BucharestDiscover more about the artistRoman Tolici's works come in different sizes and formats – some large, some small; some vertical, some horizontal; one can even hang at a diagonal. There is humour, irony, hope, hopelessness, magnificent painting and neo-Vorticist spatial awareness. Some canvases are busy, others almost empty. The underlying message? You tell me. Each work creates a world of its own. These paintings exist to be absorbed.
-
Saddo
Lives and works between Lisbon and BucharestDiscover more about the artistSaddo's artistc practice ranges from surrealist imagery, day of the dead like iconography, explorations on death in different myths and religions, portraits of rappers and gangsters, flowers, burning cars, intricate patterns of birds and plants. He samples many different details, composition elements, themes, from all the paintings, illustrations, carpets, books and movies he likes, and incorporates them in his own complex iconography.

Eclipse
Andrei GamarțSee exhibitionEclipse is a journey into a world where light's memory becomes an instrument for translating reality, Andrei Gamarț introducing another layer into the architecture of his exhibition – a transparent veil installation through which he obturates (once more) the painted images, thus mediating an intimate experience with the source of light.

Fanboy
SaddoSee exhibitionMusic is a personal experience. Maybe the most personal. It touches us like no other art form does, because it has this immediacy to it. You listen to it in your headphones, just you and the sound, and there's a very intimate fiction building up there, and it gives you access to a sound-emotion streamline, invisible to other people. Based on this premise Saddo started his series, Fanboy, sometime in 2017.

paradise of lost desires
Codruța CerneaSee exhibitionI hoped it will be like a deep calming exhalation that facilitates a more relaxed exploration.
The landscape is always present, reflecting nostalgia of unfulfilled possibilities, but is also something that I’ve missed in the last year and I’ve transferred in real-time on canvas. In almost all the paintings, there are human profiles, like suspended stripes and contoured hands painted flat, combined in a simple, harmless and tender gestures. -
Flowers growing out of my chest
Lea RasovszkySee exhibitionThe exhibition showcases a series of new works through which the artist explores the dynamism of music on the relationship between mind and body, trying to define how individuals shift from a solitary condition into an unguided daze that metamorphoses oneself toward beings influenced by rhythm and sound. This energy is transmitted through an unseen sound passage that veils all the social discrepancies and allows individuals to connect and share the same vibration.
