The exhibition Callosum presents six artists who have devised different poetic strategies for reframing the reality they live in. The body of this reality lays in between the borders of what we know as Central and Eastern Europe, while its consciousness is divided between a number of different localized regions and a globalized awareness.
Like the corpus callosum - the central conduit tissue in the human brain, whose role is to connect the left and the right brain hemispheres to allow communication and information to flow between them - so does this exhibition operate between the west and the east, the public, and the private, reality and fiction. Thus, the artists are depicted negotiating, merging, and harmonizing information into new alternatives for reframing the everyday.
